她想 maybe he really didn''t understand the gravity of his actions, but now he was staring at her with a mixture of guilt and defiance. Qin''s expression changed from calm to angry in an instant, his eyes flashing with annoyance. "You''re not mad?" he asked, his voice laced with incredulity.
Suddenly, the sound of crashing echoed outside their window, followed by the thud of footsteps on the floor. Zhang''s head snapped up, her heart racing with unease. What was happening?
"Wait here!" a deep voice bellowed from outside the room.
Zhang''s eyes narrowed as she watched Qin take a step forward, his eyes locked on the door. "What''s going on?" she asked again, this time with more urgency.
Qin turned back to her, his expression unyielding. "You''ll understand soon enough."
The sound of footsteps grew louder, followed by the thud of someone slamming against the door. The wood creaked and groaned under the pressure, the sound echoing through the room like a warning.
Zhang''s grip on Qin''s arm tightened as he tried to pull away. "What is it?" she demanded.
Qin''s face twisted in pain as he gritted his teeth. "I''m going to go talk to him," he said, his voice strained.
Without another word, Qin pushed Zhang into a nearby chair and strode towards the door. The sound of crashing and shouting grew louder, followed by the unmistakable thud of someone falling to the ground.
Zhang''s heart skipped a beat as she watched Qin disappear from view, leaving her alone in the room with nothing but the sound of chaos outside. She called out for him, but her voice was drowned out by the cacophony of noise.
As the moments ticked by, Zhang''s anxiety grew. Where was Qin? Was he okay?
And then, just as she thought things couldn''t get any worse, the door burst open, and a group of five burly men flooded into the room.
"Leave us alone!" one of them growled, his eyes scanning the space before landing on Zhang.
The man''s face twisted in a sneer. "You''re Qin''s little girlfriend, aren''t you?" he spat. "Well, let me tell you something, sweetheart. You''re not going anywhere."
Zhang''s eyes flashed with anger as she watched the men close in on her and Qin. She was determined to protect him, no matter what it took.
But before she could react, one of the men spoke up, his voice dripping with menace. "We have a message from Mr. Lee," he said, his words sending a chill down Zhang''s spine.
And with that, everything went black.
