Lin Zhen saw the message and let out a sigh of relief. The graduation ceremony was finally over, and he could finally relax. But as soon as he opened the message, his expression changed from relief to panic.
"Hey, we''re all going back home!" Meng Ji Po said, trying to contain her excitement. "My parents want us to spend some quality time together before we go our separate ways."
Lin Zhen rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on. He had been looking forward to this moment for so long, but now that it was finally here, he felt overwhelmed. He couldn''t bear the thought of leaving Meng Ji Po behind.
"Ugh, do we have to?" Lin Zhen asked grudgingly. "Can''t I just stay here with you for a while longer?"
Meng Ji Po chuckled and teased him. "You''re always so lazy, Lin Zhen! You can''t even be bothered to attend your own graduation ceremony."
Lin Zhen scowled, feeling his face heat up with embarrassment. He knew he had been acting weirdly lately, but he couldn''t help it. The thought of leaving Meng Ji Po behind was just too much for him.
The two of them chatted on and on, discussing everything from their plans for the future to their favorite memories from high school. Lin Zhen tried to keep up with Meng Ji Po''s energetic pace, but eventually, they both got tired and decided to call it a night.
As he drifted off to sleep, Lin Zhen couldn''t shake off the feeling that something was missing. He had been so caught up in his own thoughts that he hadn''t even considered the implications of going back home. What would his parents say? Would they be happy to see him again?
Just as he was starting to calm down, his phone rang again. Lin Zhen groaned and answered it, hoping it wasn''t another message from Meng Ji Po.
"Hello?" he said gruffly.
On the other end of the line was none other than Xia Xuan, Lin Zhen''s best friend since childhood. "Hey, bro! I heard you graduated today. Congratulations!"
Lin Zhen smiled weakly. "Thanks, Xian Xian. It''s all over now."
Xia Xuan chuckled. "I know, I know. But don''t worry, we''ll have plenty of time to catch up soon. How was the ceremony?"
Lin Zhen sighed and rubbed his temples again. "It was fine, I guess. Just the usual stuff. But anyway, can we talk about something else? I''m trying to relax here."
Xia Xuan laughed. "Okay, okay. What''s on your mind?"
Lin Zhen hesitated before answering. "I just...I don''t know if I want to go back home yet. Can''t I stay here with Meng Ji Po for a little longer?"
There was a pause on the other end of the line before Xia Xuan spoke up again. "Lin Zhen, you need to face reality. You can''t keep running away from your problems forever."
Lin Zhen felt a pang of guilt, knowing that Xia Xuan was right. He had been avoiding his responsibilities for too long now.
"Thanks for understanding, Xian Xian," he said quietly.
Xia Xuan''s voice softened. "Anytime, bro. Just remember, life is full of ups and downs. You need to learn how to deal with them."
Lin Zhen nodded, even though Xia Xuan couldn''t see him. He knew his friend was trying to help, but it was hard for him to hear right now.
"Okay, I''ll try," Lin Zhen said finally. "Thanks again, Xian Xian."
Xia Xuan chuckled. "Anytime, bro. Goodnight, and I''ll talk to you soon!"
The line went dead, and Lin Zhen was left sitting in the dark, feeling more anxious than ever.
Just then, his phone beeped again, signaling a new message from Meng Ji Po.
"Hey, Lin Zhen! Don''t forget about me when you go back home!"
